The lord of beauty and the essence of goodness entered the soul and mind like a flower's imprint.
Come, come, for you are the life and salvation of the people; come, come, for you are the eye and light of Jacob.
Step upon the water and clay, for with your step, the darkness and concealment will vanish from water and clay.
From your radiance, stones turn into rubies; from your seeking, the seeker reaches the sought.
Come, come, for you grant beauty and majesty; come, come, for you are the cure for a thousand Jobs.
Come, come, even though you have never left, yet I tell you every word with delight.
Sit in place of the soul, for you are a thousand souls; kill your lover and beloved, for you are the beloved.
If he is not the king of the world, O gloomy world, by his soul, why do you remain in turmoil?
Sometimes from his green banner, you are gentle and lush; from the heart of the army, sometimes you are overturned.
At times, like a painter, you create designs with thought; sometimes, like a sweeper, you clear the carpets.
When you clear the design, its essence, you grant it angelic nature and cherubic wings.
Be silent, hold water like a perfect skin; if you spill from the crack, know that you are flawed.
To Shams, the pride of Tabriz, your heart reached, for the swift steed of the heart showed itself as a mount.
