You see a jug, but the water is wine, not visible to the unworthy eye.
The delight of the soul is modest, only showing itself to its enemy.
That eternal drink is modest, and this veil of vessels is like tents.
The sea is a tent with life within it, but for ducks, it is life, and for crows, it is death.
Poison is nourishment and sustenance for the snake, but for others, its poison is pain and death.
The appearance of every blessing and hardship is such that it is hell for one and paradise for another.
So all bodies and things are visible, but within them is strength and poison unseen.
Every body is like a bowl or jug, containing both nourishment and something that burns the heart.
The bowl is visible, but within it is hidden abundance, known to the one who tastes it.
The appearance of Joseph was like a beautiful cup, from which his father drank a hundred joyous wines.
From him, Zuleikha also drew intoxication, pulling another kind of love's opium.
What was different for Jacob was that Joseph was nourishment for that beauty.
Various drinks and one jug, so that no doubt remains in the wine of the unseen.
The wine is from the unseen, and the jug is from this world, the jug visible, the wine within very hidden.
Very hidden from the eyes of the uninitiated, but clear and evident to the initiated.
O my God, our eyes are intoxicated, forgive us, our burdens have become heavy.
O Hidden One, you have filled the horizons, you have risen above the light of the two Easts.
You are the secret revealing our secrets, you are the dawn that bursts our rivers.
O Hidden Essence, felt in your gifts, you are like water, and we are like the millstone.
You are like the wind, and we are like the dust, the wind disappears, and its dust is apparent.
You are spring, and we are like the green, pleasant garden, hidden and manifest is your generosity.
You are like the soul, and we are like hands and feet, the contraction and expansion of the hand come from the soul.
You are like the intellect, and we are like this tongue, this tongue has its expression from the intellect.
You are like joy, and we are laughter, the result of joy, we are auspicious.
Our every movement is itself a witness, testifying to the eternal, majestic one.
The rotation of the millstone in agitation is a witness to the existence of the flowing water.
O beyond my imagination and words, dust on my head and my analogy.
The servant cannot rest from your beautiful image, every moment saying, "Do not take my soul."
Like that shepherd who said, "O God, come to the shepherd and your lover."
So I may search for lice in your garment, sew your shoes, and kiss your hem.
He had no companion in love and passion, but he was lacking in praise and speech.
His love had pitched a tent in the sky, the soul of the dog had become the tent of that shepherd.
When the sea of divine love surged, it struck his heart and struck your ear.
