When he becomes aware, he runs to school, his soul blossoms from going.
The child goes to school reluctantly, as he sees no reward for his work.
When he receives a penny for his work, then he becomes sleepless at night like a thief.
Strive so that the reward for obedience arrives, then envy will come to the obedient.
"Come unwillingly" is for the imitator, "come willingly" is for the one with pure essence.
This one loves God for a reason, while the other has a natural affinity without any motive.
This one loves the nurse for milk, while the other is devoted for this hidden reason.
The child is unaware of her beauty, desiring nothing from her but milk.
And the other is in love with the nurse herself, purely in love without any ulterior motive.
Thus, the lover of God, with hope and fear, reads the book of imitation in lessons.
And where is the lover of God for God's sake, who is free from motives and reasons?
Whether this way or that, as long as he seeks, God's attraction pulls him towards God.
If the lover of God is for something else, how can he always receive His goodness?
Or if the lover of God is for His beauty, fearing nothing else but separation from Him.
