Your actions are faithful, so make them your refuge, for they will accompany you to the depths of the grave.
This is the interpretation of the saying of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "It is inevitable to have a companion buried with you who is alive, and you are buried with him while you are dead. If he is noble, he will honor you, and if he is mean, he will abandon you. That companion is your deeds, so improve them as much as you can." The Messenger of God spoke the truth.
This work and this endeavor on the path of righteousness, how can it be done, my father, without a teacher?
The lowest craft in the world, is there any without the guidance of a master?
First comes knowledge, then action, so it may grant you respite or death.
Seek help in the craft, O wise one, from a noble and righteous person among its people.
Seek the pearl, my brother, in the shell, and seek the art from the masters of the craft.
If you see advisors, be fair, hasten to learn, do not disdain.
If a man wears a robe in tanning, it does not diminish the dignity of a master.
When a blacksmith wears a cloak, his esteem does not decrease before the people.
So remove the garment of arrogance from your body, wear the garment of humility in learning.
Learning knowledge is through words, learning a craft is through action.
If you seek poverty, it is through companionship, neither your tongue nor your hand will suffice.
Knowledge is taken from soul to soul, not from books or from the tongue.
If those secrets are in the heart of the seeker, the seeker is not yet a knower of secrets.
Until his heart is illuminated by that explanation, then God will command "Have We not expanded."
We have expanded your chest, and placed the explanation within your chest.
You are still seeking it from outside, like a milkman seeking from others.
The spring of milk is within you without bounds, why do you seek milk from a trough?
You have a channel to the sea, O reservoir, be ashamed to seek water from a pond.
For "Have We not expanded" is not your explanation again, when you become a seeker of explanation and a beggar.
Look within the explanation of the heart inside, so that the reproach of "Do you not see" does not come.
Interpretation: "And He is with you."
A loaf of bread without a head, you seek the edge of the bread door to door.
Twist your head, O stubborn one, turn to your heart, why knock on every door?
Until you kneel in the stream, unaware of yourself, you are the stream.
Before the water and after, with help, eyes before the dam and behind the dam.
The horse under the rider and the rider seeking the horse, what is this saying? The horse is there, but where is the horse?
No, this is not a horse under you, it is visible, you say yes, but who has seen a horse?
Drunk with water, it is before him, in the water, unaware of the flowing water.
Like a pearl in the sea saying, "Where is the sea?" and that illusion is like its shell wall.
Saying "Where is it?" becomes its veil, a cloud becomes its sun's veil.
His eye is bound, even his bad eye, the very removal of the dam becomes his dam.
His ear is bound, even his mind, be mindful with God, O his intoxicated one.
Interpretation of the saying of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "Whoever makes his concerns one concern, God will suffice him for all his concerns, and whoever is scattered by concerns, God does not care in which valley He destroys him."
You have distributed your mind to directions, those trivialities are not worth a penny.
The water of awareness is drawn by every root and thorn, when the water of your awareness reaches the fruits.
Strike that bad branch, tame it, water this good branch, renew it.
Both are green now, but in the end, see that this one becomes void, and that one bears fruit.
The water of the garden is lawful for this one, forbidden for that one, in the end, you will see the difference, and peace.
Justice is to water the trees, injustice is to water the thorns.
Justice is to place a blessing in its place, not for a root that is a water-drawer.
Injustice is to place in an improper place, which is nothing but a source of calamity.
Give the blessing of God to the soul and intellect, not to the nature full of phlegm and knots.
