When We Pray Alone

Though it was not, it serves as an example to send the frozen intellect on its way.  
The intellect is sharp but its steps are weak, for the heart is ruined while the body is intact.  
Their intellect is entangled in worldly matters, their thoughts on abandoning desires are nonexistent.  
Their prominence in times of claim is like the East, their patience in times of piety is like lightning.  
A scholar who shows off in arts is like an unfaithful world in times of loyalty.  
In times of self-conceit, they do not fit in the world, lost in the throat and stomach like bread.  
All these attributes become good, they do not remain bad when they seek goodness.  
If ego is as foul as excrement, when it joins the soul, it finds illumination.  
Any inanimate object that turns towards vegetation, from the tree of fortune, life grows.  
Any plant that turns towards the soul, like Khidr, drinks from the fountain of life.  
Again, when the soul turns towards the Beloved, it places its belongings in endless life.
