Deceiving a villager by a city dweller and inviting him with much insistence and trickery
O brother, in the past, there was a city dweller who was acquainted with a villager.
When the villager came to the city, he would pitch his tent in the city dweller's neighborhood.
He would be his guest for two or three months, spending time at his shop and dining table.
Whatever needs he had at that time, the city dweller would fulfill them freely.
The villager turned to the city dweller and said, "O master, don't you ever come to the village to seek leisure?"
"By God, bring all your children, for now is the time of spring and blossoms."
"Or come in the summer, during the fruit season, so I can serve you with all my might."
"Bring your family and children, and stay in our village for three or four months."
"For in spring, the village land is delightful, with charming fields and tulips."
The city dweller promised him to delay the visit, and after eight years, the promise was fulfilled.
Every year, the villager would ask, "When will you decide to come, as the month of December has arrived?"
The city dweller would make excuses, saying, "This year, a guest has come from such and such a place."
"Next year, if I can, I will escape from my duties and come running."
He said, "My family is waiting for your children, O noble one."
Every year, when the stork came, the villager would stay in the city dweller's tent.
Finally, for three months, the villager set a table for him morning and evening.
Out of embarrassment, he said to the city dweller, "How many promises, how many deceptions?"
The city dweller said, "My body and soul long for union, but every change is in His command."
"Man is like a ship with sails, waiting for the wind to come."
He swore again, saying, "O generous one, bring your children and see the blessings."
He took his hand three times, promising, "By God, come and make an effort."
After ten years, and every year like this, with pleas and sweet promises,
The city dweller's children said, "O father, the moon and clouds and shadow also travel."
"You have established rights over him, and you have endured much hardship for him."
"He wants to repay some of that right when you become his guest."
"He has secretly advised us to draw you to the village with pleas."
He said, "This is true, but O Sibawayh, beware of the evil of those you have done good to."
"Friendship is the seed of the last breath; I fear that fear will spoil it."
"Some companionship is like a sharp sword, like winter in the garden and fields."
"Some companionship is like the season of spring, bringing construction and countless income."
"Prudence is to have a bad suspicion, so you flee and escape from evil."
"The Messenger said, 'Prudence is suspicion,' know that every step is a trap, O fool."
"The desert is wide and open, but every step is a trap, so don't be reckless."
"The mountain goat seeks where the trap is, and when it rushes, the trap catches its throat."
"The one who said, 'Where is it?' now see, you saw the plain but not the ambush."
"Without ambush and trap and hunter, O cunning one, how can there be a tail in the field?"
"Those who came boldly to the land, see their bones and skulls."
"When you go to the graveyard, O chosen one, ask their bones about the past."
"So you see those blind drunkards, how they fell into the pit of pride."
"If you have eyes, don't come blindly; if you don't have eyes, bring a staff."
"That staff of prudence and reasoning, if you don't have sight, make a leader."
"If you don't have the staff of prudence and reasoning, without a guide, every path is a trap."
"Step as the blind man steps, so that your foot is saved from the pit and the dog."
"Trembling and fearing and cautious, he steps so he doesn't fall into the pit."
"O you who escaped from smoke and fell into fire, seeking a morsel, you found a snake's morsel."
The story of the people of Saba and their rebellion against their blessings, and the arrival of the misfortune of rebellion and ingratitude among them, and the explanation of the virtue of gratitude and loyalty
Have you not read the story of the people of Saba, or have you read it and seen nothing but sound?
The mountain itself is not aware of the sound; who has no path to meaning?
It makes a noise without ears and mind; when you are silent, it too becomes silent.
God gave the people of Saba much ease, hundreds of thousands of palaces and gardens.
They did not show gratitude for it, those wicked ones; in loyalty, they were less than dogs.
When a dog receives a morsel of bread from the door, it girds itself at the door.
It becomes a guard and protector of the door, even if it suffers injustice and hardship.
It remains at that door with patience and stability; ingratitude is to choose another.
If a strange dog comes day and night, those dogs discipline it at that moment.
"Go there where your first abode is; the right of that blessing is a hostage of the heart."
They bite it to go to its place of origin; do not leave the right of that blessing unfulfilled.
From the door of the heart and the people of the heart, the water of life, how much you drank and your eyes opened.
You struck your soul with much food of ecstasy and rapture from the door of the people of the heart.
Then you left this door out of greed, wandering around every shop out of greed.
At the door of those generous ones with fat pots, you run for the crumbs of the poor.
Know that the fatness here makes the soul fat; the hopeless work here becomes good.
The gathering of the people of affliction every morning at the monastery of Jesus, peace be upon him, to seek healing through his prayer
The monastery of Jesus is the table of the people of the heart; beware, O afflicted one, do not leave this door.
People would gather from all around, from the blind, the lame, the crippled, and the people of the cloak.
At the door of that monastery of Jesus in the morning, so that with his breath, he would free them from the wing.
He would say, "O companions of affliction, from God, your needs have been fulfilled."
"Go, move without pain and trouble, towards the forgiveness and honor of God."
All of them, like camels with tied legs, that you untie their knees for them.
Happily running and joyfully towards the house, they would run with his prayer.
You have tested many of your afflictions; you found health from this king's religion.
How much your lameness became swift, how much your soul became free from sorrow and harm.
O heedless one, tie a thread to your foot, so you don't get lost from yourself, O rogue.
Your ingratitude and forgetfulness did not bring to mind that honey-drinking of yours.
As a result, that path was closed to you, as the heart of the people of the heart was hurt by you.
Quickly seek them out and ask for forgiveness, like a cloud, cry with lamentations.
So that their garden blooms towards you, the ripe fruits fall by themselves.
Stay at that door, be not less than a dog, with the dog of the cave if you have become a companion.
Just as dogs are advisors to dogs, bind your heart to the first house.
That first door where you ate bones, hold it tight and do not leave the right of it.
They bite it so that it goes there out of respect, and from the first abode, it becomes successful.
They bite it, saying, "O rebellious dog, go, do not rebel against your benefactor."
At that door, be like a ring, closed, a guard, agile, and prominent.
Do not be the image of our broken loyalty; do not reveal faithlessness in vain.
When loyalty became the emblem of dogs, do not bring shame and infamy to dogs.
Faithlessness is a disgrace to dogs; how can you show faithlessness?
God Almighty boasts of loyalty, saying, "I am the most faithful to the covenant, unlike others."
Know that faithlessness is loyalty with the rejection of God; no one can surpass the rights of God.
The right of the mother was after that generous one, who made her your creditor from the womb.
He made a form for you within her body, gave her peace and comfort during pregnancy.
He saw you as a connected part, made the connected separate with his plan.
God has made thousands of crafts and skills so that the mother would show affection for you.
So the right of the previous right is from the mother; whoever does not know that right is a donkey.
The one who created the mother and the breast and milk, with the father, made her a companion, do not take it for yourself.
O Lord, O ancient of your kindness, what I know and what I do not know is also yours.
You commanded to remember the right, for my right does not become old.
Remember the kindness I did that morning, with you from the preservation in Noah's ark.
I gave your ancestors safety from the flood and its waves at that time.
The water and fire had taken the earth, its waves were taking the heights.
I preserved you, I did not reject your existence, the existence of your ancestors.
When you became the head, how can I waste my workshop?
When you become a sacrifice for the faithless, you go towards that with bad suspicion.
I am free from errors and faithlessness; you come to me with bad suspicion.
Take that bad suspicion there, where you become like yourself in front of it.
You took many companions and strong allies; if I ask you where they are, you say they are strong.
Your good companion went to the upper sky, your wicked companion went to the depths of the earth.
You remained in between like that, without help, like a fire from a caravan.
Hold his hem, O brave companion, who is pure from above and below.
Not like Jesus ascending to the sky, nor like Qarun going into the earth.
He is with you in place and without place, when you remain from the house and shop.
He brings clarity from the impurities, he takes your injustices with loyalty.
When you bring injustice, he sends a warning, so you turn from deficiency to perfection.
When you abandon your recitation in practice, a contraction comes to you from pain and its heat.
That is discipline, meaning do not make any change from that ancient covenant.
Before this contraction becomes a chain, this distress becomes a hindrance.
The rational pain becomes apparent and clear, so you do not take this hint as a calamity.
In sins, contractions become distressing, contractions after death become chains.
We give a narrow life to those who turn away from our remembrance here, and we repay with blindness.
When a thief steals people's property, contraction and distress pierce his heart.
He says, "I wonder what this contraction is," the contraction of the oppressed who cried from your evil.
When he pays little attention to this contraction, the wind of persistence fans his fire.
The contraction of the heart becomes the contraction of the oppressor, so the meanings become apparent.
Sorrows become a prison and four nails, sorrow is the root, and the branch grows from the root.
The root was hidden, it became apparent, contraction and expansion are the roots of the inner.
When the root is bad, cut it quickly, so that ugly thorns do not grow in the garden.
You saw contraction, find a remedy for that contraction, for all heads grow from the root.
You saw expansion, water your expansion, when the fruit comes, give it to the companions.
The rest of the story of the people of Saba
Those of Saba were from the people of Saba and raw, their work was ingratitude for the blessings with the generous.
That ingratitude for blessings is like this, that you quarrel with your benefactor.
"I do not want this goodness, I am annoyed by it, why do you become annoyed?"
"Please remove this goodness, I do not want eyes, make me blind quickly."
So Saba said, "Separate us, our evil is better for us, take our good."
"We do not want these palaces and gardens, nor beautiful women, nor safety and ease."
"The cities were close to each other, that desert is pleasant where the wild beasts are."
"Man seeks winter in summer, and when winter comes, he denies it."
"He is never satisfied with any state, neither with narrowness nor with a luxurious life."
"Man is killed, how ungrateful he is, whenever he receives guidance, he denies it."
The soul is like this, that's why it is to be killed, "Kill yourselves," said that sage.
The thorn has three sides, wherever you place it, in paradise, and from its wound, how can you escape?
Set fire to the thorn of desire, put your hand in the hand of a good doer.
When the people of Saba exceeded the limit, that before us, plague is better than Saba.
Their advisors came to advise them, preventing them from immorality and disbelief.
They intended to kill the advisors, planting the seeds of immorality and disbelief.
When fate comes, this world becomes narrow, from fate, the sweetness becomes the pain of the mouth.
He said, "When fate comes, the space becomes narrow, the eyes are veiled when fate comes."
The eyes are closed at the time of fate, so the eye does not see the kohl of the eye.
When that Persian stirred up dust, that dust removed your supplication.
Do not go towards the Persian, towards the dust, otherwise, that rider's trick will strike you.
God said, "The one whom this wolf devoured, saw the dust of the wolf, why did he not cry?"
He did not know the dust of the wolf, with such knowledge, why did he do why?
The sheep know the scent of the wolf with harm, they know it and flee in every direction.
The brain of animals knows the scent of the lion, it knows it and leaves the pasture.
You saw the scent of the lion's anger, turn back, return with supplication and caution.
That group did not turn back from the dust of the wolf, the wolf of affliction came after the dust, great.
It tore those sheep in anger, who closed their eyes to the shepherd's wisdom.
How many times did their shepherd call them, and they did not come, throwing the dust of sorrow in the shepherd's eyes.
"Go, we are more shepherds than you, when we follow, each of us is a leader."
"We are the prey of the wolf, and that friend is not, we are the firewood of the fire, and that is not a disgrace."
There was a zeal of ignorance in their minds, the crow made a sound of misfortune over their abode.
They were digging a pit for the oppressed, they fell into the pit and said, "Alas."
They opened the skin of the Josephs, what they did, they found one by one.
Who is that Joseph of your heart, seeking the truth, like a captive bound in your alley?
You have tied Gabriel to a pillar, his wings and feathers wounded in a hundred places.
You bring a roasted calf before him, sometimes you drag him to the barn.
From this torture and trial, that afflicted one complains to God about you.
"O God, a cry from this old wolf," He says to him, "Look, the time has come, be patient."
"I will take your right from every ignorant one, who gives justice but God the just?"
He says, "My patience has run out, in the separation of your face, O our Lord."
"My Ahmad is trapped in the hands of the Jews, my Salih is imprisoned in the prison of Thamud."
"O bestower of happiness to the souls of the prophets, either kill me or call me back or come."
"In your separation, the infidels cannot endure, they say, 'I wish I were dust.'"
His state is like this, for he himself is from that side, how can someone be without you who is yours?
God says, "Yes, O pure one, but listen, be patient and endure."
"The morning is near, be silent, do not cry out, I am striving for you, do not strive."
The rest of the story of the city dweller going to the village at the villager's invitation
It went beyond the limit, turn back, O companion, the villager took the city dweller home.
Put aside the story of the people of Saba, tell that story of how the city dweller came to the village.
The villager, in flattery, made a way, so that the city dweller's prudence became like a reed.
From message to message, he became bewildered, until the city dweller's prudence became murky.
From here, his children were pleased, saying, "Let us graze and play joyfully."
Like Joseph, who from the strange decree, "Let us graze and play," took him from the shade of water.
That is not play, but self-sacrifice, that is trickery and deceit-making.
Whatever separates you from your friend, do not listen to it, for it has harm upon harm.
If it is a hundredfold profit, do not take it, for the sake of gold, do not separate from the treasurer, O poor one.
Listen to this, how much God rebuked, saying to the companions of the Prophet, hot and cold.
Because at the sound of the drum in the year of famine, they made Friday void without delay.
So that others would not buy cheaply, taking that profit from us.
The Prophet remained in seclusion in prayer, with two or three steadfast, needy dervishes.
He said, "The drum and entertainment and trade, how did they separate you from the divine?"
"You dispersed towards the wheat, wandering, then you left the Prophet standing."
"For the sake of wheat, you sowed the seed of falsehood, and you left the Messenger of truth."
"His companionship is better than entertainment and wealth, see whom you left, rub your eyes."
"Did your greed not make this certain for you, that I am the provider and the best of providers?"
"The one who sends wheat from the sky, how can he neglect your sustenance?"
"For the sake of wheat, you separated from the one who sent wheat from the sky."
The invitation of the ducks to leave the water for the desert
The hawk says to the ducks, "Rise from the water, so you may see the sugar fields of the desert."
The wise duck says to him, "O hawk, stay away, the water is our fortress and security and joy."
"When the demon hawk comes, O ducks, hurry, do not go out of the water fortress."
They say to the hawk, "Go, go back, keep your hands off us, O persistent one."
"We are free from your invitation, we do not drink your breath, O infidel."
"Our fortress is sugar, and your sugar field is yours, I do not want your gift, take your field."
"When there is life, there is no shortage of food, when there is an army, there is no shortage of banners."
The prudent master made many excuses, made many excuses with the demon disciple.
He said, "At this moment, I have important tasks, if I come, they will not be organized."
"The king of delicate work has commanded, from waiting, the king has not slept at night."
"I cannot disobey the king's command, I cannot face the king with a pale face."
"Every morning and evening, the special commander comes, asking for my help."
"Do you allow me to come to the village, so that the king frowns?"
"After that, how can I cure his anger, I would have to bury myself alive."
In this manner, he said a hundred excuses, tricks did not match the decree of God.
If the atoms of the world become tricksters, they are nothing against the decree of heaven.
How can this earth escape from the sky, how can it hide itself from it?
Whatever comes from the sky to the earth, it has no escape, no remedy, no ambush.
If the sun rains fire on it, it faces its fire.
O you who are a part of this earth, do not raise your head, when you see the decree of God, do not turn away.
When you heard "We created you from dust," be dust, do not turn away from it.
See that I planted a seed in the earth, made it earthy, and I raised it.
Another time, take the profession of earth, so I make you the ruler over all the dead.
Water flows from above to below, then from below, it rises above.
Wheat went from above to under the earth, after that, it became a spike and agile.
The seed of every fruit came into the earth, after that, it raised its heads from the hidden.
The origin of blessings from the sky to the earth, it came down and became the food of the pure soul.
From humility, when it went from the sky to below, it became a part of the brave living man.
Then the attributes of man became that inanimate, flying happily above the throne.
From the world of the living, we came first, then from lowliness, we went to the heights.
All parts in motion and stillness, the speakers who say, "We are returning to Him."
The remembrance and praises of the hidden parts, caused a commotion in the sky.
When fate aimed at the oranges, the villager checkmated the city dweller.
With thousands of prudence, the city dweller was checkmated, from that journey, he was exposed to calamities.
His reliance was on his own stability, although a half-flood swept him away.
When fate raises its head from the wheel, the wise become all blind and deaf.
The fish fall out of the sea, the trap catches the flying bird.
Until the fairy and demon are bottled, even Harut goes to Babylon.
Except for the one who fled into fate, no blood was spilled by any square.
Except for the one who flees into fate, no trick will free you from it.
The story of the people of Zarwan and their trickery to harvest the gardens without the effort of the dervishes
Have you read the story of the people of Zarwan, then why are you stuck in trickery?
They were plotting to take some of the dervishes' sustenance.
All night, they were devising tricks, facing each other, many Amr and Bakr.
Secretly, they were saying their secrets to each other, so that God would not find out.
With the flower, they were plotting with the flower, doing work secretly from the heart.
He said, "Doesn't your desire know who created it, whether in your secret there is truth or flattery?"
He said, "Does he not know the one who has gone, who sees where his abode is tomorrow?"
"Wherever he has descended or ascended, he has taken charge of it and counted it."
Now cleanse your ear from heedlessness, listen to the separation of that sorrowful one.
Consider that charity which you give to the sorrowful, when you place your ear before the needy.
You hear the sorrows of the distressed hearts, the poverty of the noble soul from water and clay.
The house full of smoke has much art, open it from listening
